Savings round up - 7th July

Headline best buy rates remain in tact but there have been cuts below the leading rate payers which suggests that we may see reductions in the coming days and weeks on fixed rates. With swap rates pricing in 1 Year at below 4% now consistently, there looks little room for any upwards movement from here and we think 1 Year Fixed rates will consolidate around 4.75% this month, once Marcus pull their rate, which looks inevitable sooner rather than later. Easy access rates remain around 4.25% - 4.30%, excluding Chase and Revolut, which looks likely to be where they hold - for now. Here's our round up of the leading providers and rates in each category:

Easy Access

Revolut are paying 5% for easy access but given this is only until 4th December and capped at £25,000, we have excluded it from our tables. Chase remain at 4.50% - but a huge 2% of this is via a 12 month bonus rate. Cahoot improved their rate to 4.32% to move up to second above Coventry Building Society, whose triple access account pays 4.30%. Ulster Bank's Limited Edition account also pays 4.30% - this comes with a 12 month bonus, of 2.75%. ThisBank (previously JN Bank) pay 4.28% on their triple access account - their first foray in to this market. Cynergy Bank pay 4.23% with 2% as a 12 month bonus. Secure Trust Bank pay a straight 4.21% on their easy access account. Yorkshire Building Society pay 4.20% but their online account is restrictred to three withdrawals per year. Hamphire Trust Bank pay 4.18% on their straightforward easy access account.
